I can't believe there are no Rieekan/Mothma decks on SWDestinyDB! * eyeroll *

Kept joking with my buddy after EaW dropped and I pulled a ton of General Rieekan - Defensive Mastermind cards that I was super excited to build an epic eRieekan/eMothma deck that would pwn everything.

THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT THAT.

Mono Red, almost no removal and only 20HP, everything in here is cheap and cheerful (only the Y-Wing costs more than 2). You're likely doing the same six things every turn:

  • throw down an upgrade or two (split them up if you can - with two characters that have no damage sides I'm really not sure who they'll target first as neither is really a looming threat - eventually overwrite a Holdout Blaster or A280 Blaster Rifle on whoever is going to die)
  • roll out
  • play events to heal/shield up and trigger Mon Mothma - Skilled Politician's ability for rerolls, use some of your plentiful sides
  • if you have more weapons in hand, focus to first turn and get them down - your upgrades are the only thing going to deal damage for you - or try to get some mediocre damage out of what you've got already
  • pray to the RNG gods your opponent has terrible rolls the ENTIRE GAME, even then it might not be enough
  • continue to question why you chose to play this ridiculous deck in the first place

All In might be a surprise if they aren't expecting it (they should be with any focus-heavy deck) and using C-3PO's Action on the 3 side of Chance Cube can be a good way to finish off a character. Fortuitous Strike isn't as good in this deck as some other decks but every little bit helps.

Not sure Dug in is worth it as you won't be claiming unless the opponent's running a ton of supports.

Mulligan: Ideally you're looking for C-3PO, Chance Cube, Z-95 Headhunter plus a weapon, and Sound The Alarm

Turn 1: Play Chance Cube on Rieekan to hopefully entice you opponent into targeting him first and roll him in. (You can always not pay when you activate him on a later turn to bounce it back to your hand and play it right back on Mon Mothma.) 2 or 3 on the Chance Cube is worth resolving if you get to before they remove it. If they have damage showing you can Sound The Alarm to reroll the Chance Cube for free with Mon Mothma's Ability. If not, play C-3PO and roll him in. Then either use a Rieekan to get that Chance Cube 3 side or use C-3PO Action to resolve one of your Rieekan dice as a . Use these to throw down your Z-95 Headhunter or a weapon on Mon Mothma. Roll them in and to the best damage you can get.

Battlefield Choice: Mos Eisley Spaceport - Tatooine is probably the least likely to hurt you as you won't be claiming it. Your dice won't win many roll-offs and your two shields should go on Mon Mothma (to trigger a turn 1 Rieekan ability just for fun and her own ability helps make the most of your dice so you want to keep her alive.)

I think it's a fun challenge to take some of the worst character combinations possible and see what a deck built for them might look like.
