Welcome to The Cash Cad! I almost took this deck to my Regional in Mission, KS before swapping to 5-Dice, but it can be so much fun to play that I thought I would put it up here. Let's start with the cards:
Upgrades: First, the obvious ambush suite of Holdout Blaster, LL-30 Blaster Pistol, and X-8 Night Sniper to roll in and resolve Cad's dice off of his ability. Then, an F-11D Rifle to total 5 redeploy weapons for Ciena. Last, 2 On The Hunt to help deal with the pesky shield meta since we do not have access to intimidate.
Support: Imperial HQ is a no-brainer since Cad's sides are expensive.
Events: Pretty standard stuff for cheap mitigation. Logistics synergizes well with Ciena Ree - Adept Pilot and helps to finance Cad's exploits. We Have Them Now is slotted in for big blowout plays and to help balance out the fact that our characters' only have two damage sides apiece.
Battelfield: Moisture Farm - Tatooine helps to pay Cad's bills and allows us to start turns with 3 dollars.
Early Play: I am ALWAYS activating Ciena first to either make some money or get those +2 sides out for Cad to resolve. I nearly always take the money on Ciena unless I am planning to use Bait and Switch. The optimal play is to use Cad's action to play an ambush upgrade on Cad, activate Cad, then resolve his dice. Trying to stack redeploy weapons on Cad also helps preserve your dice for when/if Cad goes down.
Mid/Late Game: As Cad get's lower on health, I switch gears and start activating him first (around 4-6 HP left). This let's me sneak in a Cad ambush activation, and allows me to pass the redeploys to Ciena to use their dice twice. Once Cad goes down, you try to max out damage with Ciena.
Blowout Plays: So their is the obvious Cad/ambush combo, but the really fun play that can just plain win games is Tactical Mastery into We Have Them Now. The optimal play is to have an ambush upgrade, WHTN, and Tac Mastery in hand following a claim. Just roll our Ciena. It looks so harmless to your opponent. Then you Cad/ambush combo, use the ambush for Tac Mastery, first action WHTN, and finally resolve those piles of gun sides. It is typically a one hit KO to an opposing character, not to mention incredibly demoralizing for your opponent. It's like that moment on The Cash Cad when the lights and sounds go off on the unsuspecting passengers.
The deck is fun to play, and the surprise firing squad will usually elicit both frustration and laughter from your opponents. "I'm your huckleberry."

I haven't tried that pairing yet, but it is definitely on my list, and does not require a lot of changes to the deck. Lobot's special would make Cad's 2 discard side a better option as well. |
This looks a lot like the Cadbury Surprise deck published by Spray some time ago on this very site. |
In regards to the the other deck you mentioned, there are only 19 crossover cards (most of them being the ambush weapons and standard mitigation for this color pairing). I think the aim of pulling off a Tac Mastery/WHTN combo is a unique take on the pairing, and makes this build very different from that build. |
i ran this a while back too. surprised to see no Unpredictable or Battle Formation. Has Cad really been rolling that consistently without a need for a reroll? |
if for some reason you don't have tac mastery. swiftness could be a good pairing with we have them now. |

I love everything but the battle field. I prefer Rebel War Room - Yavin IV because Cad's dice are brutal with costs. Tac Mastery with We Have Them Now if you have 3 resources is a game winner. I'm definitely going to add that to my deck.
I'm thinking about going Lobot - Cyborg Aide when legacies is legal, What are your thoughts on that?
