ZEB YODA TOURNAMENT: MoMoCon Galactic Qualifiers RECORD: (5-1) tied for first place.

KEY CONCEPT: This deck massively mitigates the luck factor in destiny through Yoda and Bartering. The chance Yoda(Y) rolls a special is 55%. It goes to 70.3% with 1 pitch. With 1 Bartering(B) out, it is a conditional probability: Pr (Y or B) = Pr (Y) + Pr (B) - Pr (Y and B) = 55.5% + 16.6% - (55.5 * .166) = 72% and with 1 Pitch: Pr (Y1 or B1) = Pr (Y1) + Pr (B1) - Pr (Y1) Pr (B1) = 70.3% + 30.5% - 21.44 = 79.4% ... so you have about an 80% of getting Yoda to 1 special side (with just 1 pitch), which turns his other die's side to a 2-focus and then Zeb is now doing a consistent 6+ damage per turn.

OPENING MULLIGAN: Ideally you want 1 weapon and 1 Bartering in your opening hand. Pitch Vibrocutlass. Keep Zeb Orrelios' Bo-Rifle. Depending on the opponent's team I might keep or pitch the other 3-cost weapons Heirloom Lightsaber, Canto Bight Pistol Some great opening cards are: Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder, Well-Connected, Adapt. Pitch middle-game cards like Stronger You Have Become, Unbreakable, Sound The Alarm, The Force Is With Me.

GAME PLAY: There isn't necessarily one way to play this team, but be adaptable to your opponent's choices. If they are gunning for Zeb first be ready to build up Yoda, put redeploys on Zeb Canto Bight Pistol, Vibrocutlass. If they try to gun down Yoda, replace Bartering with a Heirloom Lightsaber if you can. In the opening part of the game try to keep at least 1 mitigation "active" if possible while also building up your upgrades. That is why Bartering is so good. I usually put down Millennium Falcon after a character goes down. Yoda generally makes enough resources to help get it out. I find it can really swing the middle and end-game after you've lost a character.

COMMENTS: I also played this deck in many TTS games in preparation for the GQ, side events and pick up games at the GQ, in escape pods, and it plays consistently against all the trilogies decks that I tested it against. It even does well against standard decks too.

Stronger You Have Become combos well with Bartering. Scruffy Looking Nerf-Herder was absolutely fantastic. Many variations of a Zeb-Yoda trilogies team uses Maz's Vault to generate resources to pay for the more expensive upgrades, but I find giving your opponent resources is too harsh, so I went for more 0-cost events, and added in Bartering and Adapt to help make up the resource short fall, which I found to work very well.

My toughest match-up in the GQ was a mirror match up against Warren E with anther Zeb-Yoda deck. I had the advantage going into the Yoda vs Yoda end game but he got the upper hand eventually..

This deck performed well against Boba Fett - Deadly Mercenary-Captain Phasma - Elite Trooper, Rose - Skilled Mechanic-Aayla Secura - Jedi General, Finn - First Order Defector-Yoda, and Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch-Veteran Stormtrooper-Veteran Stormtrooper, and many other teams.

FUTURE CHANGES: If I were to do it all over again, I would have gone up to two Stronger You Have Become replacing Sound The Alarm. In this deck the Stronger You Have Become is essentially a better Sound The Alarm able to re-roll your opponents non-damage dice. You will commonly re-roll 3-5 dice, for zero cost that is just gold. Two The Force Is With Me is somewhat questionable, and is dependent on what your opponent is playing. So I might have gone down to just one of those (possibly as the other card to replace to put in Stronger You Have Become).
