Greetings and welcome ... this is my second major tournament at Captain Nemo's Cards and Games located in San Luis Obispo, CA . . .

I was playing this deck since the release of the cards and even before on TTS once they were released with the help of Monk, Skittle M and SirLonestar from TTS this deck became what it is today so with that I hope you enjoy my little romp through the tournament.

Round 1 vs. Logan Triple Mandalorian Super Commando (Monk's son - on a side note we've played in a few tournaments together since KublaCon and we've always played first round against each other, it's fun to play him, at the same time he's still learning and had a great deck to boot this time all made by himself (and maybe a little help from dad))

He set up and I won the roll off - actually I won the roll for every game that I played . . . hmmm - anyhow he got his shields and we went to town, he ended up doing 10 damage total to DJ - Treacherous Rogue before the overwhelming odds of 6 damage almost per turn did him. Round 4 was the finisher.

I loved playing against him because he showed me a trick I hadn't thought of, I won't say what it is here because it's his deck but if you ask his father on TTS or Discord maybe he will tell you.

Round 2 vs. Jason's Nute Gunray - Separatist Viceroy/e Hondo Ohnaka - Respected Businessman/Bazine Netal - Master Manipulator

Unfortunately for Jason he didn't roll that well got everything he needed, unfortunately my deck was faster than his, my first turn set me up when I rolled in DJ and instead of re-rolling for damage I used Snoke - Supreme Leader power action on DJs resource and got 3, thus allowing me to pay off Hondo and stay ahead the entire game. Nute died turn 2 which allowed me to continue getting my resources up, even though I didn't get the 2 resources on the 2nd turn because of it, I did for the rest of the game.

After which it was pretty much me killing off Hondo as fast as possible leaving poor Bazine with a Deadly on her by herself vs. Snoke with full health and DJ with 6 damage on him, needless to say she didn't like the outcome and died.

Game 3 vs. Michael Thrawn - Master Strategist/Snoke - Supreme Leader

Okay this game was going to be easy for me in the beginning, he did the usual punching Thrawn in the face to get 4 resources out of him, however, his first turn after that was playing Planetary Bombardment and I was like, okay well this is the die I'm going to have to mitigate for the rest of the game, if I can, first turn I couldn't so he hit me for 6 - sucked to be me - I hit his Thrawn for 8 then we went to the next round. I played a LL-30 Blaster Pistol on DJ rolled and got nothing nice, he rolled missed the Thrawn ability, I modified my dice to which he had no answer, he then played a card whose name eludes me to all him to do 2 damage to me by the symbol on the die, then I killed his Thrawn. He rolled out the Planetary and got off 5 more damage.

After that his Planetary did no damage, I had the mitigation for days when I got Snoke down to 1 health, he made his only critical mistake instead of playing the Force Illusion, he rolled in the Planetary Bombardment to which I played Beguile and did the 1 damage to kill him, then I showed him my hand and I had Overconfidence, Hidden Motive, Doubt and Bait and Switch so it really didn't matter if had played it I still would've killed him with the Hidden Motive calling Indirect if I missed it I would've ended him up on a blank - then he could've rolled in I would've made him reroll, blank something and remove the Planetary die, dealing a damage then I would've eventually rolled in and that would've been game because I had enough damage to kill him a few times.

Game 4 Eric (who played in his very first tournament ever) Yoda - Wizened Master/Hondo Ohnaka - Respected Businessman

I was glad that Eric won against his last opponent because I really didn't want to play against Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative/Leia Organa - Heart of the Resistance mill, he got going strong as well, unfortunately my first turn was Force Speed, Chance Cube then rolled out hit the 3 resources for the Cube, then got that, played a Hidden Blaster on DJ, got rid of the shield on Yoda and went to town on the muppet, hitting him for 6 damage then killing him turn 2, unfortunately he wasn't rolling that great I had plenty of money for Hondo and he never say his Second Chance to keep him alive.

All in all the games were a lot of fun, I learned a cool trick from Logan, I got a great deck idea from Jason, played against one of my favorite combos with Thrawn/Snoke, however, after the match I looked at his deck and we made a few tweaks for the next tournament and of course playing Yoda/Hondo and a new guy which he did a great job.

It was a great event hosted by Captain Nemo's and run by Monk, so thanks to them for doing it and for the tournament itself, it's fun to be the king once in a while, when your a pauper all the other time.

Noting that ambush isn't important on your guns for this deck. Are there better ranged damage options out there? I'm going to start testing this pairing with a holocron suite too. Save those resources for removal.

@chazzAmbush not important huh? It’s crazy important actually I made great use of it especially if I rolled out a Force Speed special. I’d play an ambush gun, resolve the Force Speed roll in then resolve. It also allowed me to ramp into more dice when I had the resources in one game I played 2 Guns resolves a Force Speed then rolled in with 5 dice. So yeah it’s quite important with this deck.

I play this pair with the holocron package (as force throw and force lightning both remove die), plus riot baton (removes die) and cunning (copies my blue upgrades or opponent's stuff like at-st to blow it up or yoda for sweet focus and resources). i'l try putting together this aggro list and see if i like it better. so far, my current build is very solid and beats everything (hard to win when you don't have any dice to resolve, isn't it?)

it's funny to see doubt in a dj list.. i can never bring myself to play it, even though it's one of the best removal cards..

@futantshadowi tried the “force power” package I found it a little to slow and if you didn’t get Holocron out it got expensive. And how can you not use Doubt it’s amazing if they reroll into something they can’t use they remove it and take a damage - win win.

@futantshadowis your list posted anywhere id love to have a look :)

@StaticCat actually doubt says if they cant resolve it that they remove it not you so you actually dont get a ping from DJ with doubt sorry to inform you.

StaticCat 40

@brandonrculp369the Doubt says that they resolve the die or remove it - if they remove it then DJ - Treacherous Rogue ability would work because my card effect force them to remove a die which as said would trigger his effect.

Tanklord 1

@StaticCat @brandonrculp369 is correct and you are not. Your opponent is removing the dice not you. Doubt says "Reroll an opponent's die. Then THAT OPPONENT either resolves or removes it." DJ clearly states "After you remove an opponents dice". Sorry.
