This deck was able to win a mid/small size store championship of 16 players. It came in 2nd in swiss with a 3-1 record beating Count Dooku - Darth Tyranus/Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch, Kylo Ren - Tormented One/Arihnda Pryce - Unscrupulous Governor, Obi-Wan Kenobi - Jedi Master/Maz Kanata - Pirate Queen. It lost to a 4 wide hero mill of Rose - Skilled Mechanic/Jar Jar Binks - Clumsy Outcast/Ezra Bridger - Aspiring Jedi/Anakin Skywalker - Podracing Prodigy.

In the cut it beat the Obi/Maz 2-0 and then a Kanan Jarrus - Rebel Jedi/Aayla Secura - Jedi General/Built to Last deck 2-0.

When The Way of the Force dropped and I saw Loth-Wolf Bond and Luke Skywalker - Reluctant Instructor I knew I wanted to build a deck to abuse that card. To do that I added the cards that let me cheat actions after the character action, Force speed and Swiftness.

Mulligan/lines of play: Mulligan hard for Force speed and a two drop weapon in most cases. Most folks go after Luke Skywalker - Reluctant Instructor. This lets you put the weapon on Rey - Finding The Ways and build her up for the end game. Use Shoto Lightsaber and a second weapon to always ping a damage on activation. Mid-game, work to pull a Loth-Wolf Bond and you can pair that with a Swiftness to activate both characters, strip a shield, ping a damage, and then force speed into resolving all the damage.

Swiftness can be used to pair a Synchronicity with Riposte for a quick 5 damage out of hand that folks aren't expecting.

This deck is light on removal, because Shields act as the removal that are used more often than not.

Against a fast gun-deck, mulligan hard for Ezra Bridger's Lightsaber, so you can turn on Force Misdirection, or at least bluff it so they have to play around it. If they're resolving quickly instead of holding out for a bunch of linking modifiers you're better off.

Don't think that this is a fully refined deck, but I did find that folks were not as prepared for the out of hand damage as I was able to do, like a Swiftness + Caution into a Riposte to kill a character.

Not sure how well this would do against a Cad Bane - Vicious Mercenary/Snoke - Supreme Leader or other fast cheaty agro deck but think it can tank well enough to cope. Time will tell.

Hope you enjoy.

Why no Luke's Lightning Rod?

@Veldryn because i wanted to limit the number of upgrades that wouldn't pair to trigger Shoto Lightsaber's shield add/strip.

Congrats! What was your strategy v Kylo2? I've played a lot of games with Luke Rey and all my losses come from that match up. Other than that I feel it has a solid match up v most of the decks around.

@ordinaryjedi, Thanks! Kylo Ren - Tormented One is a terrible match up for the deck for sure. At the event, the game was crazy close. I won the battlefield and took mine. Losing 2 shields to begin was better than giving Arihnda Pryce - Unscrupulous Governor her special cheating on round one. Really you have to go straight at Kylo and have him down in round two or three. I did take 6 damage from his ping before he died, but i was able to control Pryce's dice so she couldn't resolve with the focus and the +. Pulling the force illusions and having them down is key too.
But really the strategy is to get +1 shield each turn and ping damage + overwriting for redeploy weapons on whoever kylo is going after. At the best, it will be a super close game if Luke can pull it out.

@ordinaryjedi, also slowing down Kylo Pryce with Your Eyes Can Deceive You forcing re-rolls of their dice was key. I had YECDY first action round 2 and was able to keep Pryce/Kylo off their most important die face each turn.

Thanks for your response. Any adjustments you would make?

I hardly used Adapt. Might drop that for another Force Misdirection or Unbreakable. If Kylo Stays popular, I'd probably drop the Heirloom Lightsaber for Rey's Staff to get another grey card and the potential die mitigation.

How was curve/resources in this deck? I notice a lot of people either run It Binds All Things or Destiny to cheat the weapon cost.

Kevinclong 230

@helikaon the ramp was pretty easy. The deck keeps most mitigation as free so you can spend you resources on your upgrades. I had no problem getting out what I needed each turn.

why no Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber ?
