A local teammate and I set down to figure out a strong pairing for Maul, and came across Maul/Bib. Check out Jackalmengames.com to see my full write up of the tournament day, as well as a deck tech.
Round 1: Yoda/Ahsoka: Loss
Round 2: Plo Koon/Padawan/Padawan: Win
Round 3: Anakin/Cassian/Rey1: Win
Round 4: Kylo2/Pryce: Win
Round 5: Dooku2/Talzin: Very Close Win
Semi-Finals: Snoke/Executioner/Royal Guard: Loss 0-2
The deck is far stronger then most people immediately give it credit for. When played defensively you can keep Maul around for much longer then you'd think, which is very important considering Bib is dead weight by himself. Going to be trying out Ketsu as my next pairing to see if she fairs any better.

Bib question - His special says "roll a character die on one of your other characters into your pool." Does that mean that you could theoretically roll out a Maul die before you even activate Maul, resolve it, and then roll it again when you activate Maul? As to Ketsu, yes. The deck will be way more aggro at that point, and it gives you the opportunity to reuse weapons you would otherwise lose when Maul dies. Additionally, it is not outside the realm of possibility that you more Maulage because some will just go for Ketsu first since she is a softer target that still does a load of damage. |

How would Jabba the Hutt work as Maul's partner? Maybe not enough yellow dice for that to be the best pairing, but you could work in some of the interesting yellow melee weapons. The Vibro Axe has good synergy with Maul's saber. |
i think Bib is better than other yellow options. his ability gives you a Maul die, which is less likely to get removed, due to Maul's ability. maybe run some events that move damage to Bib?
