MonksGamingBattlefield 387

Here is my version of a planned explosion deck :D Was able to take it 5-2 losing to SoS for Top Cut. I like how much resources it generates without trying or even having to resolve a Lando die. But also, does carry less damage sides allowing surprise plays of Planned Explosion or generate shields, strip resources, or make all the money you want and need. Plus, with the battlefield and Smuggling Freighter reset, it turns so much mitigation on for you. Power action on Wedge Antilles - Squad Leader continues to get the best sides on each vehicle die as well. Doesn't matter what they remove. Just a good ol fun deck.

Thanks to Game Kastle for hosting a great venue and for everyone there, T3 Gaming, SLO Rollers, Roll On Podcast, Poem from L8 Night Gaming, etc making it such a fun and enthusiastic ride! :D

Matchups:

1: BYE (1-0)

2: eYoda/eBoushh - This match was against a good friend of mine, Symbio from T3 Gaming, and it felt like a great start of craziness to start my day. I knew I had to keep Boushh at bay by generating as many resources as I could so that was the game plan. I let him use her special 3 times throughout the match and was scared of possible All In or Impulsive plays to be done so I continued to mitigate at least one or both of Leia Organa - Boushh die as I could. One Planned Explosion going off and all the indirect finished off the match to a close game. Such a great player and always hate going against good friends! (2-0)

  1. eVader/Greedo - This match was against another good friend, Corwin from the Roll On Podcast! Apparently a content creator showdown! This was the most incredible match of the day and huge kudos to Corwin on how he piloted it. I cant even remember the high points of this game, it was just that non-stop from beginning to end. In short, we went to time because Corwin allowed a rush to the last round with 30 seconds left, and then a 15 minute last round with both of us doing all we can to put as much damage on each other as possible. Came down to him choosing to pop a second chance on my Lando. If popped, he would have lost. Great game! (2-1)

  2. eTarkin/eSnoke - Great guy, spacing a name (I feel bad), who puts his resources over his GQ Thrawn mats eyes :D Thoughts were going in was to get rid of all dice no matter what and hoping to roll the right numbers for the plays to happen which sadly worked perfectly. Able to resolve some indirect damage and get a pile of resources round one and planned explosion Tarkin - Grand Moff beginning of round two with a Millennium Falcon and Lando Calrissian - Smooth and Sophisticated roll out. After that it was about just closing it out. Thank you for this match, the rolls of this match were too good to be ever done. (3-1)

  3. eLando/eBiggs/AR - A wild match to say the least. A battle of pretty much mirror match material but he was running the Shadow Caster build which was surprising but was able to generate the resources to start putting a lot of pressure for it and 3 other vehicles he was able to get out! So oppressive and came out with only 8 health left after a mean planned explosion on biggs and other indirect to finish off Lando. (4-1)

  4. eVader/Greedo - One match where all the hot rolling was lost. Didn't get one single 4 side on Lando the whole game and his rolls completely demolished my list like nothing. I was able to do a total of, maybe, 7 damage to him the whole game with no vehicles to boot, other than the Smuggling Freighter. Cant get the dream all the time, but he rocked it and was a great opponent either way! (4-2)

  5. eBeckett/eCiena/AR - Great match with a good guy I met in the Regional in San Diego! The resource and vehicle ramp was too much without mitigation on his side to fight against the constant bombardment of planned and the indirect damage rolls from Wedge and supporting die together. Trying to get all of the big dice mitigated from the Firespray-31 was step one of every turn and then use the dice to put a gap into the low health difference. Great plays made by Ray here! Thanks for the match and sorry for the blinding light from the placement of the table this round. It was killer for those on that side of the table. (5-2)

All in all, it was an amazing day full of laughs and unforgettable times with all the other content creators and people from the community. The venue was good but more knowledge of the game was truly needed by the TO and those running the show. Other than that it was a very pleasurable experience and great run to finish out the Regional Season here in California.

Is this a deck you should try? Definitely! Is this one a serious contender? Not so much, as it relies on the cards or rolls too highly. Can you do real work with it? YES! Is it fun? YES!

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the list!

Planned Explosion for this deck seems awesome! cool list

how did the battlefield fare for you?

MonksGamingBattlefield 387

@Ramin2-D2 - Landing Dock - Scipio was vital to the mitigation package. You want your battlefield 99% of the time and need to have it. Majority of the time you will win the roll off, when you don't, that is what Hyperspace Jump is for. The PA to put out Smuggling Freighter to take control of the battlefield for no money, then immediately mitigate with the ambush action came very clutch and very unexpected.

Hey, this looks pretty close to what I ran in San Diego--glad you got onto the Lando train, Lando/Wedge with PE is so much fun. Congrats on a strong showing.
