Sith Holocron 291

The Jedi Masters from Sith Holocron

With Way of the Force just about to drop in the US of A today and Europe having to wait at least another week to get their hands on the new set, I have been deep searching the spoilt set on Tabletop Simulator to see if I can make a unique home brew that can be developed online before taking it to various Store and National events across the summer. During Worlds, Plo Koon was spoilt and I, like many of you, saw his immense deck building potential. Using non-unique characters abilities for “free” is so good (think Padawans, Partisans, Clone Troopers etc) and I have already built a deck that I am happy with. However, I know that many people will be thinking the same as myself and making aggro or mill decks using Plo as the lynchpin of the trio. So that got me thinking. Before the full set dies, what deck can we build with the new set to maximise action cheating, special chaining, aggro, ambush and redeploy, and most importantly use cards from Way of the Force?! So my deck journey always begins with characters and as a mainly villain player, many new cards caught the eye, especially Pryce and Snoke. But as with Plo Koon, Luke3 (or grumpy old man Luke) really has me intrigued. Shield sides for shields sure, but use those for melee as well? A huge swing in favour of he controlling player and a nightmare for your opponent. Combined with his cheekily named Lighting Rod for vice versa on the melee sides and character one was decided upon. Aayla has been a firm favourite of mine since she was released in Legacies. A true support with an amazing die and wonderful special, her vehicle and aggro builds are just far superior to most other builds currently in the meta. So she was in. Now elite Luke3 & Aayla come to just 26 points so I’m buzzing with excitement as I can now use the brand new Blue 4 point plot, Built to Last, to make all unique upgrades redeploy - but after testing it seemed slow and cumbersome and not as good in real life as it appeared on paper. So back to the drawing board when it suddenly struck me... I have been purporting to all that Way of the Force is striving to make 3 die decks a thing again. What if I went back into the early days of Destiny, and instead of new Rey choose her original version? A three dice start in not optimal but wow, now we have a starting health of 32 points, action cheating with Rey, die fixing with Aayla, and Luke’s superb multi-functional dice. There are only 2 decks in the game currently that have more health (bonus prizes for knowing what they are!) and we have a mono blue deck that has tricks as well as consistency. So what does the deck contain? Well...have a look and see. As always every deck needs tested and refined but the health, actions and shenanigans this deck can do is superb. Try it out and as always feel free to post comments below. I do read them all and will take all good advice regarding this deck to a table to test.
