Classic Villain aggro is back with Jango Fett - Lethal Mercenary! The new RRG (v1.5) dropped today eliminating elite Cad Bane - Vicious Mercenary/elite Captain Phasma - Ruthless Tactician as a four dice pairing, but leaves this dynamic duo intact at a perfect 30 character points. If features an essentially untouched weapons and event suite, trading Prepare for War for a pair of Salvage Stand to capitalize on Fett’s double resource side dice that can snatch away any resources gained from Truce or One-Quarter Portion. While Jango doesn’t have that hefty 3/ side that Cad does, he can roll out more consistent damage because you won’t be paying to land that hammerblow in response to an opponent’s character activating.

Looking forward to playtesting this pairing extensively over the next couple of weeks. All I can say, however, is Hail to the King, baby.

UPDATES: Imperial HQ proved unnecessary and has been replaced with Dug in. Relby-V10 Mortar Gun replaced by DH-17 Blaster Pistol for increased weapon power plays.

I like this a lot better now. Cheap, fast, destructive upgrades. The ability to last in a grind game with dug in and salvage stand. Mitigation for the aggro matchups. And this build should be able to still claim the battlefield every game if you're bursting correctly. While it may still be a glass cannon.. this cannon doesn't need a long fuse, and can go off as quickly as the game starts.

I'll do some more testing in the coming weeks preceding the new set release and let you know my results.

What would you replace Rend for? Unless you're scared of holocrons and force speeds I don't think it's that essential to the deck.

well, Rend can be used for other cards as well, Salvage Stand, if the pinging from Qui is bad, you can use it on Luke's Protection. I am sure there are others that I can't think of in the moment

@Icarus There’s Running Interference, Salvage Stand, Imperial Inspection, Luke's Protection, and Fast Hands also to consider at zero cost, all of which are just as solid targets as Force Speed and Sith Holocron. If the deck you’re facing doesn’t include any of these, you’ve got a card you can pitch for rerolls without having to think about it.

I still think you need to tech Drop Zone in there. And I would drop The Best Defense... for standard Electroshocks. I understand why you don't (spot yellow) but man, there's so little health here, TBD is a liability when compared to other mitigation. Even Sound The Alarm is better here IMO.

That being said, this deck will play. MUCH more optimized than the last version. Have fun, dude!

@ Destraa You can now pitch a card to re-roll zero dice as an action. Running Interference is no longer a thing....well, it's easily broken up at all points.

Destraa 360

@thepinkfox It’s still unwise to leave them in play, as they can block a crucial “Play A Card” or “Resolve Dice” action swinging the game to your opponent’s favor. It’s a major force multiplier if they prevent you from mitigating damage or dealing your own.
